Grind & Seal Concrete

Grind and Seal is a finish that can be more resistant to chemicals & oils than polished concrete. This finish involves grinding the surface to create a smooth finish, then applying a sealer. Since the sealers are topical, a grind and seal will wear faster than polished concrete.

  • Cost-effective alternative to polished concrete

  • Color can be applied to the surface with this finish

  • Sheen and durability depend on the type of sealer used

Step-by-Step Process:

  1. We evaluate the exiting concrete floor to determine the condition

  2. We typically grind the floor 1 - 3 times to prepare & clean the surface, then through the top layer to reveal a clean light aggregate

  3. A color or stain can be applied such as acetone dye or water-based stains, to achieve the desired color

  4. We seal the surface with a variety of options, including solvent-based polyurethanes, clear epoxies, or water-based acrylic sealers to protect and enhance the look

This process may vary depending on the condition of the floor, desired look, and available materials. We will always consult you before we begin to offer the best solution for your project.
